This is a live Flow Dynamics mashup DJ set of funk, soul, hip hop, latin, disco, beats, and breaks, recorded in Barcelona as part of the Gold Diggers Festival at the Sala Apolo on 25th October 2007. I wanted to do something a little different with my dj sets on tour, so I basically had a pile of loops, grooves, songs, acapellas, and song snippets, and then used midi controllers and computer gear to trigger bits and pieces in and out. It means I could do a pile of live remixes and re-edits and make improvised mashups on the fly. Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction just released a free 6-track E.P. to promote their upcoming world tour. They call it NIN|JA 2009. Also featured on the E.P. is a band called Streetsweeper, a new side project of Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Boots Riley of The Coup, who will be the openers on the tour.

Z-Trip – Obama Mix Part 2
So right before the election, DJ Z-trip and Shepard Fairey put on some fundraisers for the Obama campaign called the ‘Party For Change.’ Z-Trip released a get-out-the-vote mix right in conjunction with those parties right before the election, and it was top notch. Z-Trip as usual showed he is a master of the craft when it comes to blends and inventive mixing.
He just followed it up with a new Obama Mix, called ‘Victory Lap.’ Cop it and enjoy!
And as long as you’re at the z-trip download page, you should probably cop “Uneasy Listening” and the “Motown Breakdown” while you’re at it.
